The South Central Texas Stallion Auction was started in the Fall of 2003 to promote the breeding of quality horses that will be marketable in today's horse industry, and as a major fundraiser to support the Lavaca County 4H Horse Project. This fundraiser has enabled us to donate $4000 over the last three years for various educational and recreational activities.

Unfortunately, interest in the Lavaca County 4H Horse Project has dwindled this year. Therefore, we have elected to deposit all monies raised from this years auction into the Breeders Futurity Fund, except 25% which will be applied to office expenses incurred for the South Central Texas Stallion Auction & Breeders Futurity. This, of course, will make our payout's even better!

The South Central Texas Breeders Futurity is held the first Saturday in October each year in conjunction with our Fall Classic All Breed Open Show. The 2007 show will be held at Nueces Canyon Equestrian Center in Brenham, Texas.

In addition to weanling halter classes, our Breeders Futurity features a Weanling In-Hand Trail class for all genders. This class allows stallion and mare owners to showcase the disposition and trainability of their resulting foals at an early age.

Open Futurity classes with 100% payback were added in 2006 for Weanling Halter and In-Hand Trail, Yearling Halter and In-Hand Trail. In response to numerous requests, the 2007 show will include Open Futurity classes for two year olds.  Also, various jackpot classes will be added to the open show. We are APHA PAC approved.
